Abstract

Voltage plane disruption is one of the main problems encountered by distribution network operators due to the integration of dispersed generation. In this study, we approached this problem and studied its impact. We set up a nodal topological model for a simple radial feeder. This modelling, associated with a software application that we developed, provides an instantaneous voltage profile of the feeder, performs multi-criteria simulations, and improves this profile. Simulations showed that the integration of dispersed productions, within certain limits of injected power, solves end-of-feeder voltage drop problems. However, an integration rate that exceeds 35% of the installed power of the transformer causes over-voltages at certain injection points and degrades the voltage profile. By adjusting the on-load tap changer and reactive and/or active powers, the profile is improved in most cases. This multi-purpose project aims, among other things, to offer one of the most important elements of voltage regulation on the network in real time.
